JOSE M. VILLEDA
Jose Villeda has been in the scene since the late 90s, introduced to the sounds of trance and progressive by artists such as Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, and Mauro Picotto. Later as a young DJ, Villeda gained success under the moniker “Pierelli”, playing a variety of sounds at small venues in Tegucigalpa.
In 2009, Jose Villeda teamed up with Larry Hurst to form Minimo Audio, a label dedicated to bringing the best in techno and house to the masses by hosting regular club events. Minimo Audio events feature the top local and national DJs, invited to play based on musical selection and technical skill on the decks. With sponsorship from VOXFm, Minimo Audio events have become renowned for their quality of music, variety of venues, and attendance by the masses.
In 2010, Jose Villeda broadened his scope and entered the world of production. His focus in music having long shifted from progressive trance now centers on sexy sounds – tracks with powerful bass, groovy rhythms, and personality. His current influences include Uto Karem, Santos, David August, Martin Buttrich, Alex Arnout, Luca Bear, Jamie Jones, Luciano, Marco Carola, Villalobos, Xpansul, and others.
Having established himself in his home country of Honduras, Villeda currently resides in Orlando, Florida, continuing to sharpen both his DJ and production skills. As a part of the ReTune label, Villeda regularly plays large events in Honduras, including having been invited to play at the top event in the country, and one of the most renowned events in Central America, Sunjam.
In 2011, Villeda teamed up with Luis Maier of Sunjam, Colors Promote Group, and Modular to create a Radio show. Sunjam Radio, features the best local, regional, and international DJs in a weekly radio broadcast on 101.9 VOXFm, bringing high quality exclusive mixes to the capital of Honduras every Friday night at midnight.
